General Purpose

A Meter Reader is an Employee who reads customer meters as required.
Customer meters may be located in urban areas as well as very rural areas.
Meter readers are required to locate sites using existing local addressing systems.
A Meter reader may also call on customers whose accounts are delinquent to negotiate full or partial payment and to accept and receipt such payment.
Additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The successful candidate must be capable of walking 5
miles per day in all weather conditions.
- Must pass a validated clerical test.
- Must have good driving skills and abilities for summertime driving (mud, etc) as well as wintertime driving (snow & ice).
Preferences
- Prior customer service experience.
- Prior meter reading experience.
