Summary:
Golden Valley Natural Research & Development department needs a full-time Lab Technician to operate under the supervision of our Food Scientist. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing ingredients and finished products to ensure correct composition and to identify any health or quality control issues that need to be corrected. He or she will also participate in the R&D aspects of the job, including sample preparation, food production startups and plant line trials. We re looking for a professional with experience in data collection and interpretation as well as the storage and retrieval of samples in a laboratory setting.

Responsibilities:
Supports laboratory staff by maintaining equipment and inventory
Maintains logs and record books
Troubleshoots and resolves problems
Helps with special projects
Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment in preparation for specific tasks
Perform quality control tests on ingredients, completed products and product samples
Prepare samples prior to shipping them to customers
Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control
Analyze retrieved data and prepare reports for laboratory management
Recognize and report any food safety issues
Follow strict health and safety procedures
Lift and heavy work with the daily moving of equipment, machinery, samples and supplies
Works in teams with scientists and other technicians
Laboratory Technician Job Duties:
Maintains equipment by picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing
Provides equipment by ordering, receiving, and inventorying glassware
Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books
Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps
Completes projects by assisting project team; attending and participating in group and project meetings
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Performs laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations
Carries out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses
Prepares samples
Uses computers and performs mathematical calculations for the preparation of data
Keeps up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability
Follows and ensures strict safety procedures and safety checks
Qualifications
Laboratory Technician Skills and
Qualifications:
Associate degree required (Bachelor s degree preferred)
3
years laboratory experience in food manufacturing environment
Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality
Willing to meet on-call obligations as needed
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to learn specific, practical techniques and apply this knowledge to solve technical problems
Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to use technical equipment with accuracy
Ability to maintain and calibrate technical equipment
Time management skills in order to work on several different projects at the same time
Flexibility in order to work with and provide support for a number of people
Excellent oral communication skills in order to work effectively with colleagues from all parts of the organization and to explain complex techniques to interested parties
Experience in providing demonstrations and writing technical reports
Teamwork skills and patience
Attention to detail
Excellent record-keeping skills, along with basic math and computing skills
Full-time position: 8am 5pm, with additional time as necessary
Pay-rate: DOEEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
